Onyx Computing (http://www.onyxtree.com/).
Onyx Computing has just released a couple of new plug ins. Hundreds of ground cover, grass, and ornimentals with a few clicks of the mouse. I purchased it and have had a chance to use it for a couple of images for the current Charrette #14 - House in Alenquer (http://www.3dallusions.com/forums/design-challanges-charrettes-themed-challenges/3152-charette-14-house-alenquer.html). I like it.

A Peak at Maxwell Render by Next Limit Technologies
This is meant to be a quick peak at Maxwell Render and not a tutorial or an in depth review. The next disclaimer I will make is that I tried out Maxwell on a brand new version of VIZ 2006, having just purchased the program. I am basically unexperienced with the program. I say basically new because I borrowed a friends laptop with MAX for a weekend a few years ago to play with it and see what the program is about. Aside from that I have not used MAX or VIZ before so that should be taken into consideration for Maxwell’s sake.

SketchUp Review

This is just a quick review of SketchUp (http://www.sketchup.com/) by @Last Software, now owned by Google based on my limited use of the program. In addition a brief mention of a third party tutorial reference manual ‘The SketchUp Book’ (http://www.f1help.biz/ccp51/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi) by Bonnie Roskes with Bob deWitt. The great thing for many at this time is that a lite version Google SketchUp (http://www.sketchup.com/) is available for free download, so you can try it yourself and even upload models to Google Earth.
