Saelistian

In an effort to improve my 2D digital sketching, I am working on a quick sketch and then play with color. This is just a quick sketch using my new notebook tablet PC (Hey you draw on the screen!) Picked a different subject matter to have a little fun. The character is based on a graphic novel character I developed years ago.

Cool, Russell! Is a mixture of a man with a dragon, right?
Mano felice is here!
Maybe the legs are too long compared with the rest, but that's not important!
Keep it up, man!

Without sounding too much like a Nerd (Oooops too late), it is a species from a planet with a very harsh environment. The pose is a little akward also, I was just playing with digital sketching. Lineweights off also, but hopefully I will get the hang of it Trying to give a lean and hungry look, longer limbs tend to do that, forshortening of the arms is not showing up in BW. Thanks for the comment/feedback.

Yeah, a whole 20 minutes that is why I got a notebook so I could travel around with it and squeeze things in when I am waiting etc. for stuff. But yes, I like to change pace once in a while and play around with something besides architecture.

Very nice sketch TheAllusionist! And an excellent idea for "digital sketching" on the go. Seems like a twist on the old tale of sketching ideas on table napkins!

I plan on learning colors, I don't know if this image is worth investing the time on, it was just a quick sketch, I want to get good at SketchUp on the tablet PC also. I will probably add color when I get a chance, just to play with the technique, it all has to do with what kind of free time I get I just think it would be fun to get to do art again and doing it digitally without having all the paints and markers to deal with is real intriquing, we will just have to see if I can pull it off! LOL
