Did you do this? It's interesting, but you broke one important rule of thumb. The camera should never rotate over 180 degrees in one shot. You should be able to get everything you need within 180. Anymore and the sequence becomes to busy.

If you don't enjoy it, why bother?
Yes, I did it as part of providing imagery and material for fund raising for an alternative HighSchool. Since I never recieved any formal training in CG, I actually don't know the 'Rules of thumb', I just struggle by with stuff. Thanks for the info and the input, that is why the forums are here, so we can learn from each others experience.

To be honest i never heard about that rule!! I've seen lots of camera moves and sometimes the camera rotates more than 180º! Maybe AndrewMoore is right but would like to know why!!
I only think, Russel, that you could slow the animation, is making my dizzy!!
Did you render it with Maxwell?
LOL! That is an older rendering done in TrueSpace, I am actually doing a new one with that scene just for fun using sequential images so that I have more control, always learning and I wanted to play around, but that was done a few years ago, I might take it into VIZ or XSI and do it also, just to learn the process in those programs. Thanks for the input, I just got done watching the final animations at CG Architect and have to say , WOW, fantastic stuff, very professional.

hasnt it been recently that the 360 dolly shot has become more fashionable? ie the matrix where neo is fighting agent smith?
I am not certain, I don't really have any ties with animators or what is considered OK or no no's. It is probably like lens flares, so over used in the past that it is considered a basic newbie trick and avoided unless subject matter really warrants it. I really only do stills, I went through a phase were I wanted to learn how to do animation and did some character stuff as well as a couple flybye's, but if you think waiting for a normal render takes a while, try dedicating a computer for a whole week to render out an animation, kind of loses the novelty after a while
ME,
Thanks, I found in all my playing around that if you download all the stuff at Microsoft, that WMV really does a great job of quality vs. compression, this animation isn't a good example but I tried numerous codecs and though I hate to admit it, the MS stuff works real well and is compatible with most peoples software.
