The Judges for the New Architectural Contest
Hi guys im the new guy here and my name is Necksmasher, and I just wanted to say something about the judges for the new contests here. I am very young (only 14), and I have been working with 3dsmax as of today for about 7 - 8 months so far, but I have been doing 3D for probably about 2 years or so.
First off, Mr. Chen, I LOVE youre architectural work. I have seen alot of it in the gallery at 3dkingdom. I have been hearing alot about you lately and you do great work!
The there's my idol Juan Siquier (is it ok if your website link is on my site? Its on the link page right now). He was one of the 3D artists that inspired me to first get into 3D. You do amazing work and I thank you very much for being such a huge insperation to me! And even though it was a while ago, I still want to congratulate your image of the month with the D.B.T. cafe you made. Its unbelievable!
Lastly, Jeff Mottle. I dont know if I heard that much about you yet, but I bet youre also a great 3D/2D artist and are a great insperation to many modellers and young artists such as myself.
Thank you "The Allusionist" for the nice email. I feel great being part of a cool community such as this. Hopefully I can make something good enough for the contest! See ya!

Necksmasher,
Thanks for the terrific post. I consider it a 'Dream Team' of judges. Chen and Juan are my two favorite 'Arch Viz' artist and Jeff has made very positive contributions to the profession as founder of the premiere site CG Architect.
Hope to see you participate and I am glad to see someone else as thrilled about the judging as I am! Good Luck

I must give my kudos to the judges as well. I have seen thier work here and there as well. Cgarchitect is a great site, and being trianed in architecture I look to it frequently for inspiration with thoughts of someday being among the ranks. Keep up the good work and I'm sure the architecture wonders contest will be grand. Thanks Allusionist.

ktc and necksmasher,
I hope you are going to compete in the "Architectural Wonder" Contest. Participation helps make a contest successful and helps us to make future contest possible. Participating in a Work in Progress contest gets you valuable input from others, I strongly suggest that you consider it, great way to get experience and material for your portfolio.
That is one thing I haven't heard anyone mention, a lot of contest keep the rights to the work and only allow artist to use it for personal use, such as portfolios. We want to support the artist and their rights, so anytime we can we will allow the artist to keep all the rights to the work as outlined in the contest rules. Tom Marlin of Marlin Studios is an artist and respects the artist rights, so he was fine on those copywrite issues. Just thought I would mention it, make sure you read contest rules before entering.

How about some futuristic drawing of a car, or a house, what it would look like in, lets say 50 yeaqrs from now on, or a landscape drwing 50 years from now.
Some few ideas to you, and enjoy the contest...

Obi, Fine ideas for subject matter, just not subject matter for the 'Architectural Wonder' Contest.
Necksmasher, perhaps looking up architectural wonders of the world etc. on the net may provide you inspiration. I have purchased great books of this nature at Barnes & Noble in the bargain department for under $10.00, if nothing else it makes you look cultured and refined to have them on your bookshelf and counter-acts at least partially the "Playboy's" right next to them! LOL
