Re: help on steel materials

Make the reflections glossy, that will blur the reflection and not make them look like reflections in a mirror.

If it still isn't working, reduce the value of reflections a bit, around 225...play with this value...and still keep the reflections glossy. To get clearer glossy reflections, you'll have to increase the subdivision...but that will also increase the render times. If you are using LC for glossy rays to reduce render times, that might also cause lower quality reflections.

Re: help on steel materials

you're using V-ray... ain't u .........and if you're using v ray material as base material..... in the reflection slot check the color to medium gray ....... in that .. black means no relection and white means complete reflection..... so if tis mirror .. its pure white ... chrome wud be around 95,95,95 - 150,150,150......and also check the maximum depth, default wud be 5 but 3 will also make sense ..

Re: help on steel materials

Refletion to light gray, IOR to 10.0 instead of 1.6, reflection glossyness to 0.8-0.95 for chrome steel. BRDF to ward. Anysothropy to 0.3-0.5 and experiment with rotation...
