Architectural Designs - On the Drawing BoardPost your Architectural Work In Proggress Here. Display what is on your drawing board so to speak to show off and obtain constructive criticism.
Here are shots from the project I just bring up to end... Once again I am doing what architect shold have done... I got only the layout... and some general directions... had to bring up all the elements in some sort of harmony...
This is headquarters groundfloor of University Games which will take place here in Belgrade in 2009...
In this waste space there are two info desks, reception area, registration area, offices, caffe, internet corner...
Since the time was short and I have to make quicktime VR also, I made it all into one scene (which I usually avoid), so the scene end up being quite heavy... there are also some buildings outside that I had to make, visible in some shots...
Again, I used only one light, sunlight, enviroment is HDRI and inside lights are luminous geometry...
I hope you will like this...
I put also some people in, but here are shots without them, I like it more like this...
Perhaps I will make one short walktrough animation...
beautiful. i like the the slight color tinting and the blown out highlights. Very nice style. Too many renders look like each surface was labored over for weeks. Not too dark, not to bright, blah blah blah. Your stuff always has a very natural look to it.
So, this is vray again? I can't finad anything to really be critical of in any of them. Even the compositions are very nice.
I agree with Jake, no real comments, the lighting feels very incandescent in the color spectrum which is probably just the natural light comming in since you have the large windows. The comment on incandescent wasn't a negative, it was just a comment on the color spectrum of the scene lighting, the different light types have different color qualities.
The actual item that blows me away is how prolific you are, you are outputting a lot of work and the quality control on these images is excellent, I just don't know how you do it! LOL Great work and I think lack of people is kind of nice, they would be a distraction to me.

Thanks for very nice words guys...
Yes this is Vray again... tight deadline made me stick to it... not that I doubt quality of Modo renderer, but I am still slow and clumsy in Modo when it comes to manipulate scene and shaders, while in Max I can play with heavy scene with no trouble at all...
I just finished doing the VR for this scene so here it is if someone is interested...
How do I make it? No sleep, LOL... Well, as Jake pointed, those renders are not polished as many of them you can see around... no time for that... I simply take the best of the optimization in Vray... I did lot of modeling here and prepared scene so it can be animated all around... than I setup the one uniform light setup throughout the whole scene and rendered fast renders in 1600 pixels size which took about 1hour to 1,5 hours per render
If anything here makes me proud, it is the fact that I actually designed some ellements, did the furniture choice, color palette, floor pattern, cieling arrangement, etc...
Thanks budy... I think that it may be good to host some VR-s on 3da studio site as parts of portfolio... We could make couple of them... I think clients would like to see such stuff...
Anyway, here it is simple procedure... I use mlcubic VR plugin for Max to render 6 frames and name them acordigly... that saves 6 images that I can edit afterwards as any other render. Then the second part is simple software from the same package, go cubic and it stiches the images into the VR where you set the compression, qualitty and afterwards you can make it file format as you want...
(You can also render the Vray box camera, which render cross image, then cut the image into pieces after postwork, name acordingly (there is explanation in manual of the ml cubic plugin about image order and rotation) and stich it with go cubic... but it is kind of workaround with no real reason except a slight speedup... just a bit headache with rotating and naming images right)

The VR is real nice-even at fullscreen. The mlcubic VR plugin looks like it works pretty well. Do you have to input focal length so the camera rotation takes place at the right point in the lens? The stitches look flawless.
I use to do a lot of VR's. I think Apple lost interest after early pioneering of the technique and interest died. Back in the "old days", I had two 3-inch thick, three-ring binders from Apple explaining the process used to make them. Now it's a bit easier, but the interest isn't as great for some reason.
About Modo. I don't think Modo can match the quality of light (especially in interior situations) you get can get with vRay. But, if anyone can do it I'm sure you can. Also, I meant it as a compliment when I said they looked less polished. Obviously, you are technical competent, but you also have a good sense of design and what makes an image stand out above and beyond the rest. This usually takes an artistic, "fine art" sensibility that a lot of the technically competent 3d artists are a bit short on. Could you rub off some "fine art sensibility" and send it to me please?
Hey very nice work Branko. I really like the VR. Looks very cool. We had made an VR project a year before. But those we had done with real pictures. That site now offline for upgradation. Later I will post the link.
