This is a small project from my office, we dont do houses, we do bigger projects like shopping centre's, hospitals, casinos, schools, doing a soccer stadium... yeah so anyway im not sure whatsup with this house, my boss wanted to get a student to do the 3d's in the holidays that r coming up coz its not a priority, so i offered to do it after hours. just to get some 3d work, our office doesnt really do 3d work, its all working drawings / details / plans... so yeah i scooped this 1 up lol
ok well anyway i didnt draw this part over here, but this is what im working from:
Looks like you have a good start and a good project for practice! Keep us up to date as you progress!

as a way to protect you and your company, i would think to keep the CAD drawings post to a minimum as you may be exposing the design for someone else to rip off. typically companies may have a disclosure clause that you signed asking you to keep the project on the down low. i only say this is because you never know when the people on internet will use these construction documents to their own advantages and for a profit.
but i applaud you for volunteering and wanting to do 3D during the holidays first step is sometimes the hardest. but when you look back, you will not regret doing it!
on a technical side of things, i learned when i was starting out is building the model in one single piece as it's probably easier. that sufficed for a while, but as the projects get bigger and materials got more complex, i started to think about whether that was a smart choice. Of course, everyone has their own approach to how a model should be built and i am not the professor here (a measly little amateur i might add). so a good experience is through doing. what i typically do now is to think about if there are material that may differentiate throughout the structure. maybe a drywall is built up against a stone wall, you may want to build that into two separate objects to keep things easier on yourself when you start to texture. instead of having one multi-sub materials with 10 layers, you may have just separate materials so you are not getting confused. just a thought

Sure you can, hit the advance edit button when you are editing your post and go down below the input box to "Manage Attachments" and then use the remove feature on the ones you want.
