Re: Afternoon on the deck

I like the mood. Nice lighting and nice work overall.
....I think you can play little bit with textures. Seems bit monotonous looks and cant recognizable the bg image. But it is my personal opinion.

Re: Afternoon on the deck

Nice work, to me the lighting seems like it is an overcast day, not as dynamic as I would expect for exterior, but then again the title is perhaps indicating that it is late afternoon. It is nice work, I guess if lighting isn't going to have a little zing maybe some color such as Neil suggested might give it a bit of umph! Very nice work, just commenting on the one item that I am seeing.

I like it, nice and have potential for some more fun... I think that lower POV would make this a bit stronger...

Re: Afternoon on the deck

thanks for the comments guys and they are some good ones.

Russell-by "zing" I take it you mean more contrast.....stronger direct light etc. You are correct in assuming that late afternoon is what I am aiming for and I guess thats down to opinion......alot of people have said that the mood is very nice. Yours and neil's comments about colour is a very good point to make.......Just one nice colourful element would add something.

Dsign-thanks mate.......I guess the POV is largely determined by the fact that I didn't want to bother showing the horizon and the current camera position mimics the camera position in the reference image I used..... but a valid point.

Neil-not quite sure what you mean by the background image being unrecognisable....you mean the one reflecting off the water?

Re: Afternoon on the deck

Hi Mahorela, Actually I was trying to say about the water. It has bit muddy look I feel. But it is my personal thinking buddy. Overall nice work done

I'm with you on this. Maybe ome post render work in Photoshop is needed. You could addd a little saturation to the image to give more of a hue to the afternoon sun.....looks good.

Re: Afternoon on the deck

I love the laid back and relaxed mood of the image. Like others said, only thing that one can say is that its looking a bit monotonous. What I would do would be to add some strong color in just one small area...like place a bright colored flower in a vase or something similar to break that monotony withouth killing the nice mood you have here...

Yes, I think it adds to it, good job of being subtle and not going overboard!
