My Friends House

Hi all

It has been over 2 years since I last did some personal work. High time for it I reckon.

A friend of mine is building a house in North Queensland Australia and I decided I would do some renderings of it for my portfolio. This is the first of them. I will update this thread with more images as I get around to completing them.

Eventually I want to do a 3-4 minute animation of everything but that may be a while off.

I have focused heavily on creating an environment that is very typical of Queensland Australia with a blend of eucalypts and palms etc.

All comments welcome

Re: My Friends House

Technically very nice, the lighting isn't very warm and inviting and the trees flanking the sidewalk hurt the image in my opinion, they block the view and seem odd and like the same model used, slight color variations etc. might help, but I think those trees hurt the image. Very nice image, I just see the lighting at the tree tops and wish the scene was lit more like that, but I understand the mood and deep shadows you are going after.

Re: My Friends House

Nice work with trees and foliages. Looks very realistic. I agree with Russell that few trees are blocking the view.

Re: My Friends House

thanks

Russell, spot on as always, should have added more variation in those trees. As for the lighting, your right there too, if I was doing this for a client I would brighten things but as it's personal work I want to do something different. I am planning to do some different lighting for the animation, timelapse from day to night with falling leaves etc......should be fun.

thanks again

Re: My Friends House

Hi

Here are a few more images I have done for this, still working on some more.

The grass has was created using Onyx Grass as a clump and then I proxied it and painted it on using an old blur script called Proxy Painter (might have been a soul script).

All cc is welcome.

Re: My Friends House

WOW, stunning render. I like all the images. Great composition and Post Production work too.

The fur carpet is little disturbing me. In respect with such a beautiful scene the fur carpet looks less impressive.

Re: My Friends House

Very nice, personally may prefer clear anodized over all the chrome like material on the windows and columns, but very nice. I agree with Neil on the carpet, but love the lighting!

Re: My Friends House

Very nice renders indeed! Exterior I agree with the comments above. The interiors are very nice. What software are you using to create these renderings?

Re: My Friends House

Some great images there Mahorela, great atmosphere and lighting!
The second image from the back is really my favourite. Perphaps some more creases on the couches and just a little less overexposed hot spots, would add just a little tad more realism IMO.

Im guessing your friend will invite us all for the opening party once the house is build?
