“Architectural Wonder”: You are standing on a vantage point overlooking the most impressive example of architecture you have ever seen. The aesthetics seem to speak to you and you have to wonder about those who created such an impressive masterpiece. The forms and spacial hierarchy seem classical, alluding to some great historical wonder of the world, yet the materials and construction techniques seem to be appropriate to the 21st century.

This should be a fun contest and the panel of judges are extremely talented and well known in the industry. We hope you choose to participate.

We have made every attempt to have things in place and running for a smooth contest. However, I just got word that our Hosting service will be swiching Datacenters due to some performance issues, etc. but they assure us the transition should not effect our operations.

I will be out of town the first weekend of the contest (August 6,7 & 8), if you post a question during that time please allow us the time to get back into town and reply. We will be making every effort to provide prompt responses.

Thanks guys, I hope it all works out as we plan. This is our first contest here, so hopefully there are no potholes or traffic jams along the way. Thanks for the postive feedback, feel free to give feedback, good or bad, it is the only we can fix whats wrong next time or keep doing what is right. I only wish I could compete! LOL

Besides being proud of the prizes, especially the grand prize (thanks Tom Marlin), we are extremely pleased with our judges. If you are not familiar with them, you should read their bios and check out their links. Chen and Juan are my two favorite architectural visualization artist (They may not be just that, but that is the context in which I judge them), I love their work and was blown away to recieve their acceptance. Jeff Mottle is the founder of CG Architect which is linked first on the forum portal, he is a tremendous positive contribution to the community and his site is in my opinion the premiere CG architecture site in the world. For him to take the time and lend his presence to another forum, speaks volumes in my opinion. So I think the quality of the judges and their willingness to make time for the contest says alot about the individuals.

I wish you all the very best of luck and can't wait to see what concepts you come up with (I have a favorite in my head and it will be interesting to see if anyone else comes up with something similar) and how you carry them out. We really appreciate your participation.

Hello everyone!
Chronic server data center problems have been plaguing our host company and thus us, Saturday night the site was down, so I came back into town to try and get it fixed. The owner of the hosting company called me at home on Sunday and said they are moving stuff to a new data center, at well respected company . He told me that he would move us over Sunday night (we will be the first besides the companies own site) and the new servers have dual Xenon processors using hyper threading, so we could see a speed increase of up to 4x.

I just wanted to let people know incase they have been having problems and getting discouraged, we may be down for a little while tonight (Sunday) and then hopefully our problems will be over and the site will be much faster. Sorry if anyone has had any problems. Looking forward to seeing everyones entries/concept sketches, good luck!

Architectural Wonder is a wonderful Idea. I am going to enter, I doubt though, that we will be choosing TheAllusionists fantasy due to geographical locations. I was wondering though, how much time do we have. I have been unable to find a deadline, so was it something I missed or is it still to be decided?
