"Architectural Wonder" ContestContest Thread for Contest Entries. Post entries as per Contest Rules Here. Contest closed to further Entries.
Hi all,
this is my sketch to the "Architectural Wonder" Contest. As a fan of "reusable architecture" i plan a shopping mall build of simple to connect and to unconnect steel and glas elements. The goal is to change the building -let say after a year or two- as easily and fast, as to build it. In this way the building won´t be am monument standing the test of time unchange, it will be temporary building with an update possebility.
I think i will place the camera inside.
Greetings Frank

Welcome to the contest! Nice to see a project using re-use and adaptability as the concept, no reason why environmental issues can't be addressed while creating a great piece of architecture! Look forward to seeing this progress as your concept evolves! Thanks for participating.
One quick item, could you please rename your entry to follow the contest format requirements "Name - Project Title" so that the entries can easily be identified. Thank you very much!

Hmmmm! Interesting, unusual premise, most structures that I consider architectural wonders have stood the test of time, yours will but in a shapeshifting form that adapts to habitable needs. I imagine this may even be a little conroversial in the theoretical discussions, but that should make for lively discussion.
I could see it going even a step farther by being structures and partitions on sliders/rollers that allows the space to morph as the need arised, it could provide some interesting detailing for visual interest. Just thinking outloud, not trying to hijack your concept. I would like to hear more, but I am sure you are busy developing the idea. Interesting none the less! Good Luck!

The form is a little like a church in the form of a greek cross, except your main space/atrium is offset up on one of the legs. Interesting concept, I look forward to see where this goes and the forms and final view. Good Luck!

THere are some great studies on what shoppings malls mean to our culture...how they reflect our lives, good and bad. Check out "Harvard Guide to Shopping" by OMA (rem Koolhaus) for an interesting perspective that will give you a global view of "shopping" and its results! Good luck.
