"Architectural Wonder" ContestContest Thread for Contest Entries. Post entries as per Contest Rules Here. Contest closed to further Entries.
Hi everyone, I just found out about this contest today, and it sounds cool. I looked at everyone's work, looks good. I am uploading the front view of my hotel. I don't have a scanner, so I can't upload the sketches I did. This hotel will be on a mountain top. It will have a swimming poll, tennis court, etc. I will upload the side view soon.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Wesam Saif
P.S. Light blue is for glass. Yellow is for gold, black is for open space, gradint is to demonestrate the depth of design, and wood and rock is wood and rock.

Wesam Saif,
Welcome to the contest, looking forward to seeing your concept develop. Since a concept sketch is a required milestone of the contest, we need to figure out how to post one for you.
First option, there are free and trial computer sketching/painting programs out there, here is a link to one, I haven't tried it yet, but I have downloaded it. Also Alias has a sketch program that is pretty intuitive and there are fully functioning trials, etc.
Second option is for you to mail me a copy of your sketches and I will scan and post them for you. It doesn't matter if you take a hand sketch, hand sketch digitally altered or a digital sketch/painting, we just need to see a concept sketch/diagram, it is part of the contest rules. I have heard one contestant complain about the requirement not matching his workflow, so next contest we will evaluate the requirement. Sorry if that seems like we are being sticklers, but it is only fair that we make everyone follow the same rules.
Looking forward to your future post!

Q: Which program did you use to make that elevation, is it 2d or 3d??
Looks interesting, I certainly see middle eastern influences in your post-modern piece. I certainly will like to see how you will model those ornaments one the middle section (will they be models, or maps?). Its still not clear though if the tower is on the same plane of the rectangular part or not since it does not have cast-shadows. As an image it definetly conveys the intention.
One other issue: your title says "hotel on mountaintop", nevertheless that image could be of a building sitting on a street in NY. My question is: How will your hotel "BE" a hotel on a mountaintop and how will it be different than a hotel in Park avenue?
Keep the good work.
Hi, Thanks for the replies and comments. I am goning to look for a scanner to upload my sketch and design. I can use Photoshop to do the sketch (using my wacom), but I like to draw in paper. I'll upload the sketches within the week.
About what software I used. I used Micromedia Fireworks to do the front view. The tower will be up in the front and the rectangle building will be behinde it. This building could be on park ave, but the in my complete design, it will be on a moutain top. There will be stairs on both sides of the moutain, and elevaitors going on another side.
Thanks again
Wesam

I can't really say how I feel about this one yet but was wondering if you would give us a view from the top... I just think it would look different then what I image it as.
