Jeff Herndon - HUGH - Hanging Gardens

Well I'm sure you must have heard of the "Hanging Gardens of Babylon".

My plan is to create a complex which will act as an office building. I will be integrating terraces and cantilevered overhangs. There will be plenty of gardens also.

I will also use a touch of Frank Lloyd Wright in my design.

This complex/building will have an ancient look, at the same time it will be made of modern materials.

I will produce a drawing in the near future to show you my concept.

Hugh, look forward to seeing this, Great historic subject matter. Hugh is a long time online friend, we have been known to go to forums and kick up a little dust in a good natured way, mind you. Tag team style! LOL

Here comes trouble! It will be interesting to see how you pull off Wrightish styling with historic architecture. Look forward to seeing your concept sketch.

Hi hugh!

Awaiting to see your concept sketch - I was once in "the Ark" in London from (Ralf) Erskine Tovatt Arkitektkontor AB. The first thing I was thinking about when I read your concept.

Vincent.

Very nice...never had seen that building before.

My design will go in different direction than the Ark.

Frank Lloyd Wright had many phases to his career. I'll be posting my concept soon.....

Yes, it will be interesting to see your revised/contemporary interpretation of one of the original 'Wonders of the World'. Good luck.

Concept Sketches

Here are 2 rough sketches of an isolated top view showing an over the street bridge detail. Along with the side view showing the same bridge.

There is also drawn an angled elevator. This will be a dual glass covered elevator with exits on to the outside terraces and interior of the building.

These are just concept sketches for now to get a general idea of scale and geometry.

I would like to see the front ortho view of this one, that is if it is not asking to much.
