Timothy Back - Museum of Mythology

Hi all, I am really hoping I will have enough time to give this contest everything I have, I think it is a great concept.

anyhow here is my idea

I want to create a museum of mythology which takes architectural elements from the concept of Atlantis. From what I have read, Atlantis is deemed to be an eclectic mix of pan-atlantic architecture ie.greco-roman, egyptian, mesoamerican, mayan etc. I want to create something very modern yet seamlessly blend in these classical elements. Atlantis was rumoured to have a massive statue of poseidon as a focal point, would like to blend in some of these elements of Atlantean mythology also.

hopefully I will post some sketches within the next few days

please let me know what you think

Mahorela,
Sounds epic! Can you provide you full name so we can rename your thread correctly to meet the contest rules. If you are in the witness 'Protection Program' and can not give out your real name, let me know. LOL Good Luck!

Re: Timothy Back - Museum of Mythology

ok onto the sketch. I am about as useful as a concussed sea cucumber with a pencil and paper but as per the requirements here it is. I expect the idea to change alot throughout the process, I am pretty indecisive with these types of things and I also think that I want to add a more modern architectural feel than what I am portraying here shape wise. So if you want to comment on any of this or you just want to brag about how your 2 year old son can draw better than me, be my guest.

oh and as for the cocentric circle idea, that is very atlantean and kind of defines their supposed cities (according to Plato anyway), the in between circles are water.

LOL...i doubt that a year old child can draw as much as you, i know i dind't!!!
Right now your concept makes sense, i think that is too soon to make any comments. I prefer to wait for you to start modeling it!!

Re: Timothy Back - Museum of Mythology

Hey, congratulations, you have completed your first milestone, don't you feel better! LOL I know a lot of you hate the sketch requirement, but think of it as helping you improve your craft, at some point you will have to sit down with a client and use a sketch to convey your initial idea, it is an important part of your design arsenal.

Nothing wrong with the sketch and nobody is judging you on your sketch, it is just a method of expressing your idea quickly so we can comment on whether or not it may not meet contest rules. It is also a way for you to quickly explore a couple ideas in the initial branstorming process
