Centrally located is the main temple pyramid....which from now on I will refer to as Pyramid I. Four surrounding pyramids, Pyramid II...which will be much smaller in scale and grandeur, are located at the end of diagonals of Pyramid I. The shaded area will be water as opposed to grass in the present Teotihuacan. Leading to Pyramid I will be a bridge having similar architecture as Pyramid I...some tensile structure...will have to work on those details too.
You have an interesting concept!! I'll not comment on youe sketches because you're just putting your ideas in paper and trying to get them organized. I'm curious to start seeing some modeling, because in this stage things will change a lot, that is when i start to comment. Good work and welcome to the contest!!
First off, in the contest when I make comments, they are just my thoughts don't take it as something you need to follow. Sketches work and express you idea, nice work. I personally lean towards symetry in a lot of things so I see where you are coming from, but from design experience perfect symetry is something to perhaps steer away from. Here are my thoughts, the center piece is historic in nature and symetry is fine in that context so what you have is fine, but perhaps if one was to pull back from the scene and surroundings it would have a less symetrical pattern. You would be using the symetry of the central piece to make it stand out amongst a little chaos. Since you are just showing your central piece my comment is not applicable at this point, but I thought I would mention it for the time when you work on context for your 'Wonder'. FWIW
Great to see historical reference to your concept and sketches are working

Hey ..Neha, Judging by the intensity of lines in your sketches. I really feel you are a passionate sketcher/designer. Way to go. I really agree, you should try to break off with the symetry angle.
Hoping to see more of your W*I*P's .

Involved in a project that is based on these forms, albiet round????-not my idea Done some very intense study and thought about these forms on this potential scale of the challenge....your work is very inspiring
Hey thanks everybody for your support and suggestions. yes, i had it in my mind that the sketches are too symmetrical...but as i had explained in the 1st post of the skeches, it is going to change a lot as the work progresses. Also, Teotihuacan is not symmetrical on both axis, but only one....my final scene will more or less be similar to the actual site layout of Teotihuacan. I will start working in detail on the layout once i have decided completely on the geometry of the pyramids.
i feel my most challenging task will be to give a modern construction to the ancient forms. i will have to figure out a lot of details....hope i get enough time to do all this the coming month @ my office is too hectic...will dedicate all my sundays to the challenge now
