Re: Neha Kakkar - Teotihuacan Rejuvenated

Here is the rejuvenated sketch of my rejuvenation concept
He...he...I am begining to feel like I am a reincarnation of some aztec priest born to design this temple

What the heck...why does a pyramid always have to taper upwards...so mine goes upside down. I always have been a fan of cantilevers and tensile structures...so this was inevitable

The structure will be a blend of modern achitecture and traditional adornments. The main altar will be at the top of the main pyramid...still have to work out the exact way to reach the top as the structure is inverted as well as stepped. There will be two more temples...the shape resembling the "CLAW". There will also be a shrine of Quetzalcoatl (hope i got the spelling right )...the serpant god....so it will be something organic...maybe on the lines of the feather serpant crown...still have to work on that one.

Now only i could find one aztec to comment on my concept

Next step....MODELING

Re: Neha Kakkar - Teotihuacan Rejuvenated

Looks like a nice interpretation of the site. Must admit, Teotihuacan was one of those sites I was looking at for inspiration for the centre of my own piece - but in the more conventional pyramidal sense.

I think that I'm fine with the 'claw' effect, but I'm not so sure about the shape of the 'pyramid' itself - I always feel the central american pyramids have a deliberately huge, flat base. Have you toyed with a more obtuse angle, perhaps increasing the floorspace on the upper levels?

Re: Neha Kakkar - Teotihuacan Rejuvenated

I will decide the exact angle while modeling...but all aztec temples don't have obtuse angles for their side slopes...for eg. the grand jaguar temple...and besides an acute angle for an inverted structure will make it look unstable.

Re: Neha Kakkar - Teotihuacan Rejuvenated

Very nice elaborative sketch you got, i like your rejuvenated sketch and it is looking better. i agree with Robinson, you may increase the floor base a little bit more to hold more people at the base of the structure. the spiral staircase on the pyramid is giving a nice modern look to the structure and i am fine with the 'claw' effect, too.

'claw's are looking like some airport terminal structure by Norman. adding new dimension to the entire design.

excellent sketch...

Re: Neha Kakkar - Teotihuacan Rejuvenated

Hey just decided on the steps...instead of what I have shown in the sketch...I will have the steps leading from one floor to the next. Then continued from the interior of that floor to the next...I can have terraces on each floor to act as the landing...which would add more detail to the structure...can't wait to go home and start the modeling now

Re: Neha Kakkar - Teotihuacan Rejuvenated

This sketch was a nice surprise when I got up this morning and checked post Very nice work. I kind of agree with Sphynx, that if you are going to break the rules, break them big, perhaps the inverse sloping of your temple is more exagerated? I like the alter section swooping out and I know you will play with the proportions as you model, just tossing an ideas into the ring!
