    Neha Kakkar - Teotihuacan Rejuvenated

Okay...here's the history of how I came up with this concept after brainstorming on many other ideas...

I have always been awed by meso-american architecture...and the worst part is that in this side of the world, its something which is quite unknown (things have changed these days thanx to the internet)...even had huge issues in my architecture college regarding it when I chose this topic for my elective and my HOD had never heard of it

All said and done...here's my entry..."Teotihuacan Rejuvenated"

It will be what Teotihuacan would have been like, if built in todays age! I am planning to concentrate on one temple-pyramid...will make some more structures to build up the environment. It will have all the ambience of the original Teotihuacan, done with a modern approach.

Well, very ambitious plans hope to execute it in the best way possible. Is this idea okay...will submit the sketches if yes!!

Neha, excellent concepts i am also a fan of meso-american architecture architecture and studied lots of materials from net. yes, thanks to the internet for this otherwise it would have been impossible to know much about them. would be looking forward to see your sketch.

@ Allusionist - thnx...waiting for your comments on the concept sketches

@ Pradipta - Its so nice to know that you also like american architecture...I never find people around me interested in it

I have completed architecture from Jawaharlal Nehru college of engineering, Aurangabad; am now working in Pune.

Here is my concept sketch of the pyramid-temple...

The central lines in the elevation are the steps leading to the altar at the top...its going to be giant of a structure. Right now, i have shown the steps leading to the altar from all four sides in the plan, might change it to two sides and have different structure on the remaining two sides...will decide as the concept develops.

I am thinking of replacing the typical stepped structure into a tensile structure...will do r & d for the details.

I still have to do the sketches for the surrounding structures and the plaza leading to the main temple.

    c & c plz...

nice sketch. i like the way the wings are coming out of the structure.

you can add some more text describing your idea and how you are going to implement that. you also have to show the buildings utility and that is important.

yes, i spent good amount of time doing study on maya, inca, palenque areas, machau pichu .... so much to go... whenever i have free time i spent with these materials. nice to know you also liked these. FLW is one of my favourite architet, so, i also very much into american architecture.

Neha, place any text decription of your concept in the first post of your thread. That will make it easier for judges and other participants to find and understand.

I have few books and original scanned drawings of some FLW house.
