Architectural Wonder II ContestContest 'Work in Progress' Submissions
I am new to this forum, and 3D Allusions for that matter, but was intrigued when I saw an advertisement for the contest on CG Architect. Therefore, I started brainstorming and thinking of ‘breathtaking architecture’ and it seems to me, the most impressive and acclaimed architecture throughout history was in some way related to religion. So on that assertion I have decided to create a modern cathedral, which I will call Roccia de Speranza (Rock of Hope). It will resemble a Gothic cathedral, but I will make the construction, materials, etc, decidedly more modern as laid out in the guidelines.
The main exterior component will be granite, along with other more industrial materials, while the interior will be the finest of natural materials. As with many ancient buildings of cultural prominence being placed in a lofty position, I will have my cathedral perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with grassy rolling fields on the other sides.
Well, that is my idea at this point. I haven’t had a chance to sit down and finish sketching it out as of yet, but if my schedule allow I will try and get to that in the next few days.
Re: Abram Syphrett - Roccia de Speranza - Concept/Entry
Abram, welcome to the AW-II
I like your concept. Seems very interesting. Cathedral is one of my favorite types of building. Your will be the third entry with cathedral type designs. We will be waiting to see some sketchs on your concept. good luck

Hi Abram, welcome to the contest. I took the liberty to hange your entry title because it wasn't inside the submission rules. Your project has lots of potencial to be a great entry. Good luck!!
Abram, nice to see your sketch. impressive concept. the additon of a cliff will make it more exciting, you can use the Ludwig's Neuschwanstein castle as reference . one of my favorite.
