Smile Hector Allier [anonyma] - Human Joint Forum?

Hi there you guys...
a littlt bit about me...i'm a pc technician and architect from mexico city.i've been hanging around in reading and learning from many members here and in some other CG related sites and now is time to get involved in this great idea (AW2)!!!
I have not that much skills handling 3D software but will do my best to get my entry done...and above all to keep learning from you too...

My idea is as stated firstly in the thread title "Human Joint Forum?" with an interrogation mark cause it may change over development...
Briefly i can say that this is kinda idealistic not only for the architectonic idea it (hopefully) will reach but for the best interest in representing some of my personal thoughts regarding nowadays EAST-WEST "antagonic worlds"; i think this architectural wonder could be reached translating what might be an effort of giving one (or several) place(s) like this to induct people know each other differences...(language, traditions, dressing,etc...)

In the sketch i present to begin you can see that conceptually i have a central POINT and two direction shcematics (in-out) toward it and it can be used in many ways...as an example is the other drawings about sky-earth (up-down) and east-west (left-right)...but as far as i thought it can refer also to how we see the world and how the world sees us...

Any way hope i can contribute in this effort and will be reading you here...
cheers

Re: Hector Allier [anonyma] - Human Joint Forum?

Wow, interesting!
I'm sorry to say I don't really get your sketch though it does seem impressive and futuristic if I might say.

You got my interest that's for sure! good stuff. Would be interesting to see some basic modelling!

Re: Hector Allier [anonyma] - Human Joint Forum?

I like the forms except for the top right flower image, I think the angular forms of the sides, etc. kind of conflict with the flowery imagery, I could see more of a star fish kind of pattern or spokes without a rim working well. That is just my two cents, don't let me detract you from your vision.

Welcome Aboard and good luck

Welcome Hector, your concept seems very interesting and quite complex to me. The sketch shows your entry is going to be very futuristic. i will wait to see some modeling updates from you. cheers

Thnx for the welcoming and comments SebD, The Allusionist, neha, pradipta...

talking more about the concept i'd like to say that the flower scheme is one of the source idea i get this crazy concept...there is this ecumenic temple "Lotus Temple" in New Delhi, India...that ignitied my flower alike drawing...but what i don't like about this building is that is closed...my idea then followed a two axis scheme (bottom left) that could divide into two or four quadrants it's area...and the challenge for me is to generate a wide open space to contain a large number of people into it to presence and participate in different activities...like recitals, concerts, performances, art exhibitions, etc...all under the same place...and maybe a prototype to downtown of emerging cities...or new urban developments...around the world...

Anyway let's see what way this turns into...

Re: Hector Allier [anonyma] - Human Joint Forum?

Here you have couple of sketches more...it's a first approach to perspective views and reference to a wide open space that suggests me a "calling" to visit it...and then be under it's "protection"...

That'll make a simple way to help out understanding previous sketches...(i hope)

And now starting to fight with the modelling...(there's lots of thing i don't know how to achieve)

This is the first modelling steps so far...now it seems to be a literal flower...but ill try to work out on the structural development...and to get rid of the simetry simplicity somehow...hope you can check this out...and be glad to get some feedback (thanks in advance)

read ya soon!

Re: Hector Allier [anonyma] - Human Joint Forum?

Hector, this one looks better now. it will be an interesting model to watch. the structure is looking very dynamic with free flowing fins. you should have some water body in the front that will reflect the structure in the water as seen in islamic architeture.

I have been to Delhi and saw the Lotus Temple, it's a nice style influenced by the Sydney Opera house design.

Good Luck

I like the angular forms of blades as in a fan or turbine better than flower petals, but that is just my personal taste, don't let that stop you from going where you envisioned
