Now the sketches. And the thought behind when it comes to planning.
Well the picture with the temple like building is a sketch of the entrance building. With a layout of the surface buildings. And the giant glass ceiling of the station.
Which will be 221 meters long and 49m wide. The 221m is symbolic for the unification of China which happened in 221 BC. The 49m being symbolic for the founding of the People's Republic of China which was founded in 1949.
The second picture shows a very very basic sketch of the layout of the entrance building. And a rough sketch of what I want to do with one of the sides. I want to create a glass mural the size of the wall with a stylized dragon. The dragon of course being the symbol for China.
I was still pondering if I will do a spiral staircase in the center with a radius of 8m. Or just do a normal staircare. I've since decided to do a normal staircase. Aka just now.

It will house the tourist information office, a high class restaurant and the normal station stuff. Ticket office, kiosk, cafeteria and a supermarket.
In the third picture you can see a small sketch of the glass panel and a top view of the subterranean part of the building. The intention is to have a wide part of the structure to be open thus allowing natural light. And of course allowing someone standing at the top of the stairs to see the entire structure. The levels are better explained in the last sketch.
In this sketch I tried to see if those were acceptable angles. I myself don't really like steep escalators but this may be unavoidable in the end. I'll have to see how much space they take up. Or choose a different structure for the escalators as seen in department stores etc. I ran out of things to say.
Ok will just put one more sketch and a little text about future plans in another post.
