Niels Ritstier - Mayan temple residence

Hello everyody

from now on ill be posting alot more since my project has started.
got myself a good Wacom so I can start to put everything from paper and get some good photoshop scatches (I hope).

Im planning to make a very luxues residence totally based on Mayan culture
It has to look like a Mayan temple but then with more staires and will look a lot more open then the actual temples.
From the bottom it will all be metal and at the top its gonna be fully made out of glas, to make it 1 whole piece the metal and glas will blend in around the middle of the building, maybe to break it there will be some wood and stone but im not sure about that yet.
The whole thing will be settled in the middle of the jungle so it will be a big contrast between modern architectual work and mother nature.

Some sketches will follow soon and maybe some 3D work but first the sketches cause I got a deadline to make

Re: Niels Ritstier - Mayan temple residence

well here is my first Sketch

will soon follow more but as the deadline comes closer i had to post this one now. I kinda stepped off the idea of only building a mayan temple, the tempel is now more like an entrance.

it will be settled near a steap hill and on top of the tempel you will take the elevater to the living apartment, its gonna look like a mayan temple up side down, the apartment wont be floating but will be attached to the hill, i didnt figure out how it will be attached exactly but im thinking of some cables or let it fully integrate with the hill that it becomes a part of it.

hope it will all work out

Re: Niels Ritstier - Mayan temple residence

Niels, looks very challenging to create such structure. How those two poles will hold such a huge pressure from the structure above, may be some new age materials you have to find out for that.
expecting to see some modeling work to start...

Re: Niels Ritstier - Mayan temple residence

I think he only drew the structure. The actual model will have a hill as well. Kind of a cliff with the apartment perched on top.

Anyways. Looking good.

Re: Niels Ritstier - Mayan temple residence

thanks for the compliments

the apartment above will indeed be attachd to the cliff/hill
the 2 poles you see there are for the elevator to travel up and down
there wont be any presure on it, it still looks kinda basic maybe ill try to make it a bit more interesting.
