Pharos Lighthouse, Alexandria - 3DAllusions

This is my work for the Finding Shore competition on vizdepot.com. I chose the Pharos Lighthouse, Alexandria for my entry.

My aim here was to try create an artistic piece of work that captures the spirit of the lighthouse and give a historic feel to it. This, being one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, I wanted my final image to depict that epic quality of the structure.

is the water a .jpg?

I believe there is land adjoining the other side so you enter from there. Yes, the water is an image.

it reminds me of that movie "Troy"...its amazing how u got that .jpg of the water to blend in with the lighthouse...did you model water and textur it with the jpg or did you photoshop it after the render or something...sorry im still a noob...
