Both are really nice with light and mood. Comopostiton is great also. However, those type of ship wrack scenes calls up for really serious texture work and more modeling details, both on ship itself as on the ground... Try to first define proper mapping procedure, than play a bit with painting the textures, adding a bit age on the ship...
Anyway, good start and good idea... keep it up, it definitelly got something to it...
As for the silouethe image, it is really nice, but some second light source oposite of sunset direction is neceserry to cast some weak highlits on ship hull... that would make it more realistic, even if the light is fake...
