CG Artwork - Digital Showcase2D & 3D computer graphic images that don't fit within the other catagories. FINAL
This is my recent work for Vizdepot Lighting & Material challenge. I don't think I will be working anymore on this image, so thought I'll share it with you all. Might go in for a night scene later on if I find some time. Thanks to Jeff Patton for providing the nice model.
I wanted to do something different with this one, not the regular photorealistic water shot showing nice ripples and neat reflections. So I tried to imitate the style I used to do when doing crayon sketches in school days...use lots of bright colors & a stylistic NPR image. Hope you like it. C & Cs are most welcome.

Interesting approach Neha, looks really nice and warm...
It reminds me more on watercolor though...
Did you achieve that effect in postwork?
I think it works really well in most parts of the picture, exept on the columns, they could use some more detail and hilights... I think you could contorl the amount of the effect on certain parts using some masks that you would derive from the rendering itself... Anyway, it is always nice to see your work, especially artistic as this one... I just think you could develop the method a bit, it deserve that...
Looks good Neha, I believe I commented at VD, it kind of has a pointilist and impressionist quality to it as well if the impressionist worked in high resolution so to speak! LOL

Thanks Branko. Yes, this effect is done entirely in post production. I always enjoy playing in photoshop to achieve various effects. I have spent very less time on this image...you are right about metal highlights. I think they were there in the render, I will work on that part this weekend.

LOL Actually I started playing with a test render to see how I'll treat it finally, and then after I had n number of layers with effects, I felt too lazy to redo all of it again on a hi-res image once again
Next time, I promise I won't touch photoshop till I am through with the max work
Thanks a lot Neil & rpadc2002
