Spider Management Resources
here are some refference images of spiders that you might find useful. It is looking good but it seems the scale of some of the body sections is off a bit.

I am going to stay out of this one, I hate spiders, if a big hairy one lands on me when I am not expecting it, I land in the next room and hit the ground running! LOL
I just saw on TV that the actor who was one of the hobbits in LOR and is on Lost is part of a show/expedition to go somewhere like the Congo and capture this spider that they know exist, one dead sample is around but never a live one by westerners, it is the largest living spider known to man and is at least 16" accross, YIKES and then there are all those pictures of camel spiders from the gulf, gives me the creeps

Uffff, Spider, dengerous insect. I am also very much afraid of Spider.
Brucesama, the modeling looks very good. I think the main problem with the material shaders and you have to textured the spider in detailed. If you get any big spider photograph then that will be easy for you. From that you can cut different part and unwarp them on your model

I think extending the legs down to points to give it a more slender and sinister look. I would also take a look at some other spider projects here in the forum.
