View Poll Results: How long time do you need to modelling a human head ?

ME,
It is a good start so far. If you go with subdivided surfaces you can box out the head and let the smothing algorithyms do the work. It takes a little getting use to since you have to space edgeloops depending on the sharpness of the curves you want. Beveling and extruding are also used in the process. It really comes down to whether it is going to be realistic or cartoony for how long it will take you. I would just sit back and wait until you get your new copy of 3D Studio Max and learn the tools of the trade rather than working in trueSpace.
Good start and good luck!

TheAllusionist, thanks for the input. You right I now using subdivided surfaces to model the head. I already tried to model human head start with NURB curve or start from a plane before, but I give up because its too hard. Here an update of my avatar project.
Its pain to paint head object in ts5.2, when I changed face color, the libs color also changed as face color.
Now I am searching internet for find tutorial about making 3D cg hair.

Looking good ME. A couple anatomy items, since there isn't a profile/side shot I may be wrong. Eyes should be roughly halfway from chin to top of skull, yours look a little high, perhaps try rasing the skull top in the Occipital region giving more forehead. The back of the skull is spherical, yours looks a little flat from what I can see. You have a good start I am just mentioning the little things I see off hand and like I said without a profile shot I can't be certain of them all.
Hair in TS is problematical, there are a few plugins, you either add a lot of geometry, each hair is a mesh or you use layer planes with a hair texture and transparency mapes, there is nothing out there like "shave and haircut" for TS. Good luck!

TheAllusionist Thanks for your suggestion again. Your suggestion about anatomy make me change my plan and I decided to remodeling it from start again but this time not in TS but in Blender. And I will put a photo in the background as modeling referesi.
Here is what I got in TS so far. I temporary used it as my avatar image until I finish my avatar project in Blender.

Well ME, make sure your avatar meets the size and dimension requirements, mine uploaded fine, but the forums was transfered to a new server on Sunday, perhaps the directory became protected. Please make sure your avatar file meets the image requirements (80x80? I don't remember off hand, the profile option tells you, I will look at it later) and if you are still having problems, let me know and I will look into it further.
Model is looking good, did you model the hair or use a plugin?

Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB.
I tried to up load 57x72 gif file with 3,09KB, but fail. I also tried with jpg file but the result was same.
TheAllusionist, may be you can help me to put my avatar in this forum.
The hair was modeling start from primitive silender. I didn't use any plugin here.

ME,
There is a problem, the new user control panel did not allow the upload of an avatar, the way I did yours was through the administration panel. I will look into it further and see if we can figure it out. Thanks for alerting me to the problem.
