Here is some grab viewport to show you the mesh. I dont use box modeling. I mosly create the shaque of the peace and after extrude it or shell it. After I put some chamfer and ajust the smoothing groupe. That way I have a nive smooth resulte without extreme face count.

Freakin 'A' Spline (formerly known as Lt Spline) that is awesome. Total departure from the old garage rendering (I believe that is the image I remember you from most, my apologies if that is incorrect, I am getting old and my memory isn't as good, besides that, how many people do you think I have to associate images with? LOL) There is nothing I have to add to what you are accomplishing this is top knotch work worthy of a game or movie, I can't wait to see it animated, thank you for sharing this piece with us, it is fantastic.
P.S. I had always thought your previous call sign 'Lt Spline' had to do with the Autocad entity of simplified or light Spline, it seems from your e-mail that it was from your gaming days, what was the origin?
Once again tremendous piece, I am honored that you shared.

Great WIP on the Matrix APU!! I don't use 3DMAX to modeling and stuff but i was thinking on buy that DVDs to model using the Maya modeling tools!! Those guys at 3DPalace made a terific tutorial DVD from what i can see from your images!! Nice work dude!!
Thank's man, I realy appreciate your kind word. Yes this his me with the old garage, good memory Russell.
The story with Lt Spline go far far away!! It began whwn I work on construction, I receive in present a Dewalt drill, you now the yellow one. Few week later I went to play war with lazer, (sorry for my english' hope you follow what i'm sating) we have to choise a nick, so I choise Lt DeWalt and I had this nick for years after that. When I start 3D 4 yeras ago I change it for Lt SPline, Leutenant Spline, because I mostly use spline for modeling, rarely I use box modeling. And now I not a big gamer anymore so I remove the Lt. That the little story of my nick
Now I am waiting for a small rendering of an anim of the leg. All the piston, spring and hoses move. Very cool so far. I dont use any dynamique for the hoses, just counstraint on dummy. I will post all the process. I will post the anim soon.
Take care man!!

Thank's pBarrelas. I didn't use at all the dvd from 3dpalace to do my APU. I bought this dvd and when I started tuto I was supprise to see alot if differrence from the original. So I decide to buy the figurine from Mac farlane and look at the film Matrix Revolution mostly frame by frame. The tuto from 3dpalace is good, but for a guy like me who care alot for proportion respect because of my formation, I was not able to follow it. I will certainly refere to it for the aniamtion.
His thecnique can be use for any software.
