Design Challanges - Charrette's/Themed ChallengesThemed challenges. Hopefully we will have some cool competitions and prizes.
One idea: all posters of the original challenge here at 3dAlussions post in that forum. And we all react on the way they abused your scene for their own purpose. This can off course only be successfull if all contesters here join in on that action. I think they will receive more unpleasant posts on their challenge this way than they will have with people that want to join their challenge.
The fact they are using a model from another forum defines that they are not able to build their own a scene to do a challenge!
It's a rude manner to not mentioning the name of the author, d.sign, and don't ask him the permission to use his scene.
In the first post of this thread he was clear:
"Admin Note: All credit for the model should go to Branko a.k.a. 'd.sign' when posting images using the model off site.
Admin Note: The scene remains the property of the original artist and credit to the original artist must be included with any rendered output posted outside the site. In addition the original artist and 3DAllusions for the purpose of the challenge are the only parties authorized to distribute said material without the consent of the original artist. If you do not agree to these terms do not download the afore mentioned material."

I haven't gone back today and checked it, I wanted to get some feedback from D.sign, but there was no credit given origianally to the point of my post. This looks like it is a post and challenge made by a member and not necessarilly by admin there. I did not see an obvious link to admin there but I will figure it out and point out the situation to them. The site should not necessarily be blamed for one user. I will contact admin there to give them a heads up to be fair in the matter. I just wanted to make sure the original author got credit in the least and thought permission should be requested. Man&Mouse was concerned as well and thus brought it to our attention. I think a lot can be over looked if credit is given and of course permission asked.

it's very unfortunate. to use someones else's model and not giving him/her any credit. i have seen these happening lots of time in my career and i really feel bad. but, we may not do much about it. if someone steal our model and publish it as their own, it's not easy to always track them. it's such a vast space. but, what we could do is, alert our friends in other portals or forums and asked the admin their to ban that mamber whoever is found doing the cheating.

Thanks for your support guys! I decided to ignore whole this stuff and take no action for now. So, I can ask you to do the same. Russell gave them warning and that worked in a way that they kind of remembered to give some kredit. That is enough for me because nothing intelligent I can do now. The scene was my gift to all the members of this community for free use. I was just little mad that someone made another chellenge from it. If they wanted to test their skills on the scene they could join this chellenge like the Artlantis community did. I think that we should not waste any more time and words on this. Thanks again for all support and high level you raised this little event!
I can promisse you that it will be more events like this from my factory! This will not stop me from sharing my work with this community!
Sjaak and Russel, I appreciate very much what you did!

Re: Charrette #4 - Christmass/New Year challenge - rendering and texturing a living room
I am ignoring this, but I came across this, but don't know what they are saying, but it looks like they are comparing two scenes, just curious about the dialoge:
Re: Charrette #4 - Christmass/New Year challenge - rendering and texturing a living room
This is quite interesting! This is some debate on "runaway" scene from this challenge...
I hope they at least mention our chellenge as original source...
