Why don't you explain what the problems are, I know there are some construciton lines or something that cause problems and are just made into nulls, but the files imported into different programs and I didn't see any major problems, but I haven't explored in depth, so a list of problem areas would help out, all I see is triangulation and one error in the floor.
Branko sent me a dwg file I will look at it and see what can be done

I think the .dwg will help, it support quads so there will be no triangles for one.
I could post some wires, but it is poly model in max, no triangles and very few polygons. Only areas that I was expected errors are smooth objects lile bowls, sink and apples, but with this .dwg that should be fixed.
I am sorry that problems occurred, cause of the simplicity of the scene I actually did not expect any of that to happen, but seem that new max is not so friendly to other apps...
Please see link to DXF file in first post, hopefully this works for everbody and as members are able to get working formats going please feel free to share them by sending them to us and we will replace the existing versions when possible. Good Luck!

Max can export as .obj but I avoid doing that hoping to get proper conversions. Why - simply because I tried it and it somehow break up the geometry in the pieces, at least it was the case when I import it again for check. I will try again, but I suggest you use the .dxf it is cleared from triangles and errors I believe...
I willl check one more time the .obj export and if it work, I will replace the previoous and let you know...

Thanks for the challenge!
That's my three images of your scene. I have to work a bit more but it's a good start for a rendering beginner I think. I'm software developper so all your comments are welcome.
I made it with RTSquare, I write the rendering time on the images.
Image (1200x800 px, 201 418 polygons) rendered in 5min 28sec on an ATI X1900 GT with: - Global Illumination - Skylight - soft shadows - reflections - antialiasing 3x3
Image (1200x800 px, 201 418 polygons) rendered in 11min 05sec on an ATI X1900 GT with: - Global Illumination - Skylight - soft shadows - reflections - antialiasing 3x3 - Depth of Field
Image (1200x800 px, 201 418 polygons) rendered in 7min 13sec on an ATI X1900 GT with: - Global Illumination - Skylight - soft shadows - reflections - antialiasing 3x3
