Time for another challenge, this one was sparked by the forum discussions on green/sustainable housing:

Green Modular Housing Discussions

This time around we are going to challenge your design skills and see what kind of modular housing you can come up with using Cargo Containers as the base modules of your design. We are providing two rudimentary cargo container models for your use, whether you use these models or your own, they give the basic size for 20 ft and 40 ft units and a starting point. The main idea is to have fun and come up with some creative housing using modular cargo containers as the building blocks, how you use them and what you add to them is up to you, we do want to see at least parts of the containers visible in your design but the structure is not limited to the use of them.

In future challenges or Contest even, we may try a wider range of housing units falling under Green/Sustainable, modular efficient housing, but at this time I wanted to limit it to systems using cargo containers, it makes it a real challenge to your creativity and helps make it easier to compare one anothers concepts if they have some similarities

Rules and criteria:
1. The housing project can be single family or multi-family using the supplied models or your own creation.
2. The challenge is to create the most visually interesting image focusing on a green sustainable design, the setting is up to the artist.
3. POV/camera angle - This is upto the artist to choose.
4. Artists are free to choose color schemes as per their choice.
5. Deadline for the challenge would be disscussed later, but it should be within the 2 months.
6. There are no prizes lined up for this challenge, to date we have come up with something for the winner of the previous challenges, but the emphasis of this design excercise is to have fun and improve in your craft.

1.) All credit for the materials provided and concepts should go to '3DAllusions' and the corresponding linked sites when posting images off site.

2.) You are free to post the renders other sites and forums , we expect you to put a link to this site/challenge thread. Thanks

I am uploading four different fornats. I would also request other artist to put up some more formats if we have not provided them, if possible. The models are as is, both models are in each ZIP file, we can not guarantee the integrety of the meshes, normals may be flipped, etc.....

We hope this new challenge will be another sucess and we are looking forward inseeing some exciting renders. So get started now...
