If you run into trouble and need help let me know, I didn't get around to checking all your files last night, but I can help out today.

Re: Charrette#10 - Holiday and New Year Livingroom Challenge No.2
Any help would be appreciated... I will try again tonight with .obj format, it seem to be most universal format, but I guess every app will open it differently so it need different options for export... I spend quite some time to make the Modo format via .obj, but I did it in two stages... first the space and than the furniture, I can upload those two cause it seem to work good... I cleaned up all the smoothing in those two files so that Modo can do the job properly. If you guys get faceted geometry, just use any sub-d or smoothing method your application provide...
As I mentioned before, I think SU and perhaps Maya format would be good.
I made lwo, but I can not check how it looks in Lightwawe since I do not have it...
Re: Charrette#10 - Holiday and New Year Livingroom Challenge No.2
I will take a look at the OBJ version, SketchUp will just read in the DWG file fine, no need to make a separate version for that, and it doesn't render by itself anyway. I do not have Maya or LightWave so I am in the same boat as you as far as checking the output, but will fire up PolyTrans and see what I can come up with

Re: Charrette#10 - Holiday and New Year Livingroom Challenge No.2
I like the challange so i think i'll join this for a first time
Can you just tell me a bit on the things we can change.
Is it alright to change textures and materials, some decorations on the walls/ceiling ? And how many renderings do we have to provide ?
Re: Charrette#10 - Holiday and New Year Livingroom Challenge No.2
Branko can jump in and correct me since this is his baby, but typically in these challenges we do not want to see you mimic exactly the original rendering, instead we want to see your creative interpretation of the scene. Typically individuals change decor, re-arrange and add or subtract furniture, use there own color schemes and have even been known to add a window or skylight. Basically tweak the scene in a fashion that it is obvious in the end that the scene you were given is the scene you have rendered, only done your way!
Hopefully that answers your question, basically you have been given a great scene by Branko, render it with your interior design/architect taste and show us "Whatcha U Got"!
