As I see it more care and handling will have to be put into the vegetation - expecially grass (as the trees can be Ps'd). A simple displacement map will not neccesary be enough IMO. Its a combination of a couple of maps that will help the scene come to life

Well, I had a couple hours this morning so I messed with it in Modo. Here's a WIP. No sky or serious textures. Just trying to get the feel for the lighting etc.

I've never done a Challenge before. Is the idea to reinterpret the image or to duplicate as closely what is shown in the pics?

Jake, welcome to the challenge and I hope you will continue... it is looking nice already... I should say that you perhaps need to delete the glass thickness for Modo rendering, I modeled it in Modo, but I had to give the glass some thickness because of other file formats and next stage, interior challenge...
You are free to reinterpret the image as you like, those pics are photographs for reference and like in our previous challenges, you are free to reinterpret lightning, textures, materials, natural setting, POVs etc. as long as you keep the basic structure of the model for the sake of comparing and keep some sort of visual tie to original source...
There are reasons why I did the model as close as possible to original house, even interior stuff, but as I said, image should be each artist own interpretation...
You are free to use the images for personal portfolio and post on other sites as long as you put the appropriate credits to author and site where the scene came from.
