looking good christoph, one thing that jumps out at me is the top of the lower stone wall. i'd expect to see some cap stone rather than double thin rocks on that size wall. the warm glow is very inviting.

Both of you are probably right, it should have a cap, but the photo looks like they used a stone cap. Maybe they used stone for the cap with a slight overhang for a drip edge and water proofing? Since the photo is too small for me to tell, the point is probably nothing to worry about for visualization here, but for constructability you would probably have some sort of cap for it to last long term I would think

I have uploaded a revised render fixing the noise, the leaking light on the steps, the curtain frozen in time, and the couch and door frame. I added the blur on the curtain since the shutter speed would be abit slow for the lighting conditions, any movement would cause heavy blur. Only thing is that it looks better without the blur but is more Photorealistic with the blur. Any advice?? Also here is a draft lighting setup for my new POV. Just trying to set the mood for the render, want a cool skylight/warm halogen mix.
I agree with you.. without the blur looks better. I'm not sure but I feel with the blur, the curtain looks much heaver and distracts the image. Maybe changing material to see-thrua bit?? But I like the images

'Only thing is that it looks better without the blur but is more Photorealistic with the blur. Any advice??' - there's a way out if You're searchin' for fotorealism..in real world scenario You could set up realy high ISO number like (12500 in canon 5d/50d - if I'm right) 'n thus having slightly higher shuter speed. but in this scenario the camera would introduce more noise =) there are other options that You could add not blur, but 'stops' fotr curtain..in several positions with slight blur on few of them - this effect is made in real life with several flash units broght in with different timing =) - If You really interested in that try searchin' via google for 'creative flash' or smth simillar =) there's a promotional/educational dvd for photographers using nikon flashes=) it should be helpful for those who are interested more in deph 'bout lighting/photography in real world setups =)

jop ROD, surely this one =) it will introduce basics of flash units 'n tries to explore them in ways we simply do not think about =) it's real world, but a lot of concepts you can bring into CG, blend them with other knowledge 'n find Yourself smth that could resonate to others - the matter is simple things =)
n' while we doing (or trying) CG'ing it's very useful to get offroad - to photography, art history, even enginering, or maybe botanics..'n etc.
hope it helps =)

As for the blur, it is matter of taste, but I would go without it, or make something in Photoshop
Your draft for second POV already looks very promising, interesting idea to go inside (where is BTW something like laundry room)

I like it very much, has nice artistic feeling to it, like the light very much too! Keep going with your ideas!
If possible, post a bit larger image so I can see better the whole story in it... My eyes got older you know...

Nice one Rod. One thing that occur to me is that all of your images look great in small size, just some faults are visible when you enlarge the picture. I mean that as a sort of possible guide what you could do to take another step forward. Just take the balance and effect of the small image and try to give it more detail and sharpness in larger size!

Hi, thanks TM and okabesan, you could also use a 'bright' lens that has a very low F value plus a high ISO (although 12500 would look like a noise party) and a camera with a more sensitive sensor. Here is a rough draft of my second POV. The symbol above is an old Sikh symbol called a Khanda used by the warriors way back in the 1600s. Its actually just an assortment of the weapons they used. Still looking for something to put up there or might put nothing. One question for the modeller, what is the purpose of the space beneath the cantilever. Is it storage? or a specific room? would help me visualize the space better.d.sign, I will go for without blur aswell, looks too distracting with it. Could you also tell me what functions other than the laundry that area serves as it would help me with the story.

jop, i understand the issue, but as restriction are like 800x800 and my picture aspect ratio is 3, i could upload like 26x X 800 bigest..so any options here??? i'm rendering at least 1800x600, so i think i'll crop some place's for previews later =) but what external picture hosting server You recomend if I would like to post whole image? =)
to Gurmukh23 - nice progress =)
