Yes, scale is correct, it was inherrited from the download, and I juct checked it.

I havent had any luck with sample radius either, I also rendered from a nother angle and all the other chairs that are pressing against the table cloth are rendering OK, its just this one chair that has light where there should be dark ambioent occlusion.\

Try pulling the chair back slightly so chair geometry doesn't actually intersect the table cloth. Additionally you may want to try a double sided material on the table cloth. Other option, are shell modifier, but I haven't had great luck with it in the past on complex forms.
