Perhaps, but some laptops don't support much RAM, typically 2 is maximum and some supported less. Of course this was a year ago when I was looking at laptops, this might not be the case anymore, but if your laptop was several years old, who knows what it supports?

nice tutorial ... but any self respecting 3d artist having less than 2 gb of ram should be very ashamed
Kippu lets not forget every self respecting 3d artist, especially students & like may not have the money to get a supercomputer like the professionals even though they would like to

Yeah agree with Neha .... and the Problem is upgrading ... If the systems are an year and a half old .. we don't find compatalbe RAM's and even if we do . they are pretty high priced and the the also RAM's keep updating at pretty faster rate... one year ago we had DDR 1 now there's DDR 2. And for the price of 1 GB DDR 1 we're getting 2 GB 's of DDR 2. Its a nice thing but in a matter of 2-3 years .... old ones are getting outmoded... sometimes its lil tough to cope up with fast paced technology

Neha, Very nice tutotial. Thanks for sharing it with us
I started learning 3D Studio Max and Photoshop in P3 733 with 128 MB RAM in my institute. That time I dont have PC in my home. I used to go regularly there for practice. After getting job I bought PC in my home and that was also P3 and the RAM was little higher 256+256. That cost 39000 Rs. That time the price of P4 was very high and I didnt have money to buy. I faced lots of difficulty doing practices and experiments. But I survived. 2 years before I bought a good PC.

I knew Kippu was just making a joke, and I had just pointed out laptops without thinking about the equipment people are using in other countries. Actually an eye opener to hear others take on it
