dot net error while opening 3dsmax9 64bit

i get this dot net error as soon as i launch 3dsmax it says it failed to load something related to dotnet.. i get this error even when accessing rendering tab how to rectify this error... does reinstalling dotnet files help or is 3dsmax corrupt?

Not a lot of info there, what is the file or exact error message and if it points to a file is it on your computer? That kind of thing happens if say you add a DLL file that is for the wrong version of max, it will not load it and give the error message at boot up time. It seems to me that during boot up it only tells you files that it can't load, but once inside of max you here about missing files. Anyway, need the actual message and file name I imagine before anyone can help you figure it out. Since I do not use 64 bit, I probably can't help you.

well it says some maxscript error... i have uploaded the error screen shot.. this error comes as soon as i fireup 3dsmax..

Looks like it is your merge animation script in your scripts autoload folder, I would remove it and see if it works. If there isn't one then maybe something you installed expects it to be there. So go remove max directory/scripts/autoload?/MergeAnimation.ms and see what happens, is what I would suggest.

hi, this is not much of an issue as i have seen this before in some of my friend's system. 3dsmax kernel sends this error when some third party plugins or software tampers with its preset script, these scripts are important to max's interface and GUI to run properly. You can try to find out what script files is missing as Russell mentioned above. Then you have relocae the in proper place. Copying these scripts from some other systems running the same version of 3dsmax will also work in most cases.

It generally comes during 3dsmax starts, and when you click on Customize and Rendering tool bar. This error can even occur in 32 bit system as well.
