- I was born in 1982 in Poland. Illustration accompanies me since I was very young. I would spend long hours drawing mainly deformed characters. After all, a 5 year old has his own vision of how the human organism is built. I also remember being inspired and fascinated by animation especially Tom and Jerry. At a bit older I became interested in architecture and form.
When I was a couple of years old my parents and I relocated to Nigeria in Africa for 13 years, where I was studying in an English school. Later we traveled to Kuwait where I spent 3.5 years continuing with my studies, especially art and computer studies. During this period I was mainly painting and drawing. At the time my main inspiration was Francisco de Goya, especially his series of 14 'black paintings', and other grotesque artists such as Ralph Steadman and the painter, Francis Bacon. It was also when I started learning to play guitar and I was an illustrator for a local newspapers.
When I returned to Poland I got heavily involved in graphics and vector graphics while continuing to develop my drawing skills. I plunged into Flash animation, with short story animations, animatable e-cards, web page development and basic action scripting. I actually had a proposal from a television channel, about my short flash animation being transmitted on air, which unfortunately didn’t work out in the end.
During this time I had various projects 2 of which were special: painting on 2 walls, 13 meters in width and 2 meters in height, with caricatures of sportsmen and designing a brochure that would promote anti-doping in sports. At this time I’ve also attended art classes where I improved skills regarding drawing the human body.
After I finished school I applied and got approved to Technical University in Gdansk in Architecture. It was then I started doing 3D arch vis. At first I would render my own architectural designs. After endless hours of practice and observation of how the world is lit, I proceeded onto freelancing and have been freelancing for 6 years so far, mainly for Asia and Poland. I have also been involved in architectural concept design. I have also started matte painting about half a year ago and plan on improving in this area.
Just this year I started to participate in 3DARCHVIS and graphic competitions, for a total of three from which I have placed in two: the #10 Living room Charette here on 3DAllusions where I placed second and the AVC 2008, where I placed first.
With everything I do, I try my best. Always finding room for refinement, I raise the bar higher each time. Self-critique and the urge to improve help me develop and evolve further and further.
As for the future I plan to improve my 3D architectural visualization skills, illustration skills and enter more thoroughly into character animation (2D and 3D) as well as keeping up all I have learned through all this time.
I am always on the look out for interesting and eye-catching form, shape, architecture, art, visualization and graphics.
