Re: Rod Thonen dynamic sustainability. a community concept

This challenge has brought up memories of a recently failed project of mine that was in a planning stage, encumbered by local ordinances, zoning regulations, and cost restraints. So, in a virtual world I plan on bringing the project to fruition. Don't have the time to do a sketch or post images right now, but wanted to pass along the concept to be delivered as time permits.
    1) As economies of scale make the best laid plans a bit easier to achieve
    2) As infrastructure is in place and municipalities very often require taps, fees, and other items be purchased
    3) As prices are reduced with expanded development and the ability to do more for less increases
    4) So, these things considered, I plan on doing a hybrid project, one that takes advantage of existing infrastructure, giving back to the system at a level equal to or exceeding that which is taken out. I guess I'm at the age now that I really don't care to travel many miles to fetch my gallon of milk, or much interest in raising a cow. As Aubry has determined, being off of the grid holds many meanings for many people. Rather than being off of the grid, I'd rather present ideas for living with the grid on the supply side.

This said. As a moderator here, I want to, at this point, state that if I am fortunate to be among the final group I will NOT take any prize, but would request that they be passed on to another. Now, back to work for RL stuff

Some references: once upon a time I did a project that had it's own sewer plant, and water system.... so I know it works, and here are a couple of components that will be modeled. We had a golf course on that one, but with the tertiary system we'll have water for the gardens and landscape areas.

    http://www.pollutioncontrolsystem.com/Uploads/files/Tertiary Drawing PF-5-C.pdf
The tertiary system will also be tied into the rainwater collection system to increase the quality.
Preliminary hydrology studies have indicated a rather large aquifer located beneath the property, the project will have a centralized water system.
This area is located in a desert environment, so, a car wash will be included which recycles the water, filtering before reuse. Sorry, residents, no car washing at the house... love hate relationship with HOA's hehehe.

As wind energy is not a reliable source of energy in this location (wind speeds need be constant at higher rates than we have) the following alternative energy plan will be incorporated:

The MGC Chatbox Evo is really easy to use

  2. Format the chats :
  3. once you un-collapse the chatbox formatting toolbar by clicking on the BBCode button, you have access to different formatting options for your chats. You can format a chat by selecting a part (or the totality) of it and then select one of the buttons/list. You can also add empty formatting tags by selecting nothing and clicking one of the buttons/menu thus allowing you to add the chat text afterwards between these tags.*
  4. Access to the different channels : you can have access to different channels restricted to only some usergroupds or for specifics use of the chatbox. The different channels are accessible from the buttons on the left of the chatbox.*
