    Re: Philipp Althoff - Flipped

For uploading into this thread, 800X800 would be the largest image without automatic resizing. But, for your challenge submittable rely on the size described in rules section. I like the fridge, it reminds me of a propane refrigerator I once had (long long time ago LOL). It looks better with less shine. I want to be shocked, shock away

Hrhr- good. In germany we have a proverb "aussen hui- innen pfui" which means something similar like- all fur coat and no knickers. outside wow- inside low would describe it better- and in my case its reverse(or inverse?^^). as i wrote - is a way to proper but the exterior shot will balance this.

hm- few weeks ago i made the update from adobe cs2 suite to cs 5.5 and new functions for the 32bit workflow
are available. so i was playing around with the "hdr tonung" instead of using the ordinary exposure function.
i like this version- i guess its a bit better, doesnt it?.

Hi Phillipp, I think the new shot is an improvement on the first, and I really really like the light streaming through the door to the left. To me, the stools look a little unrealistic, and I think it is probably due to their not being a shadow underneath them. I know there would not be much of a shadow, but I think there would be more than you are showing? Looking really good overall though, well done. Gald to see someone else has tackled an interior shot! (altough you would not believe it was the same house from our two contrasting image styles!)

Great interior, I like these stool better than the wire frame stools you had previously. Perhaps a wider Ambient Occlusion pass may help to "ground" the stools a little better by making them look like they have more shadow. Love the kitchen, I could see myself making breakfast there.

    Thank you much guys!
<- sings: "yes, no, maybeeee- i dont know- can you repeat the question..."
Im not sure- i guess the stool is too high and the legs very tall, so there wont be much shadowed areas.
Or maybe its about the GI illumination of the white wood material- i will try to lower it, because im not using ambient occlusion.
Sometimes it looks right- but often it brings back the "cg look".

    @visualator

    Re: Philipp Althoff - Flipped

    Hello,

after my pc crashed several times... i get it rendered.
The windmill at the right is still untextured and i think i will exchange the model with a normal power pole.
The wood lagging is made with over 40 woodstripes..and i made over 50 noise textures for the used look-
    just for the wood. ^^

Hope you like it so far

have you converted your polys to mesh? It might help if you're running out of RAM. Looking good, wish I could see more of the details. Perhaps some more, or brighter light fixtures on the exterior would offer a look at all that work you did on the textures.
