Philipp Althoff - Flipped Hello together,
im new at this forum and would like to say hello.
I m a freelancer, i guess from the older fraction^^and
im working with C4D and Vray.
After i found this contest, i decided to give myself a try.
Im not sure about the location- the house looks like a beachhouse
or a small house at a lake side to me.
But first i will clean up the geometry, so it will be easier to
texture it.
I wish everybody a lot of fun and a great experience!!

re: Philipp Althoff - Flipped Welcome to 3DA and the Challenge. Give us your real name and a name for your entry and I will rename your thread to match the challenge instructions. I imagine the OBJ files is the one you will want to start with for C4D, feel free to donate a cleaned up C4D file to the challenge to help out other contestants if you desire, of course it is not required or anything.
Best regards,

re: Philipp Althoff - Flipped Im sorry- i know i am late...- but its everytime the same- im starting something- and the next day a client calls me up....
My real name is Philipp Althoff. About the OBJ file- its not the matter of the OBJ format- its about the CAD data. Im mainly doing my 3D work with C4D and i always trying too keep the mesh clean as possible.
Sometimes a bit to intensiv, but polygons selections and displacement maps will work much more easier than with wild triangulate CAD meshes with no polyflow. With "entry" you ment something like a theme for my thread?
So- lets start
Best regards

Re: Philipp Althoff - Flipped Well…, beach, lake, minimalistic or "wall of look"… florida beachhouse, retro optic, a car, a surfboard- but this would be my second choice. The first will be the lakeside. No matter if european, northamerican or whatever. A house, used but not wasted- many props, a hell of plants. A bit forgotten. Summerhouse or an exile? So i hope at the end the picture will tell a story. Not too maritime, its a fisherhouse or the house of a hobbyangler or maybe of an dropout. When i was a child- i start fishing at the lakes around my hometown. My father had a little house in the middle of a forest, which is quite close to a lake.
I will try to catch a dark/blue atmosphere before the sun will rising up. Best time to go fishing. So i guess a good title would be "Before Dawn".

Re: Philipp Althoff - Flipped I cleaned and remodeld the stair and the handrail. Every part gets a slightly chamfer. Its not perfect-because i only connected two woodplanks, maybe i will have an idea later for those little detail. I paid a lot of time by giving each step a different wood texture. -
