    3DS and Motion Capture

Here is a challenging one. I have a project wheree I need to get
motion capture data taken in real time to animate a caracter right on the screen in the 3DS Max UI. I can import motion capture data but I have
not found a way to get the motion capture caputre equipment directly
connected up with 3DS max UI. Is there any way to do this?

Any hints, help, resources, advices, or solutions are very appreciated!

Anyone done something like that ever before? Heard of anyone doing this?
    Any idea????

    Let me know !

    Re: 3DS and Motion Capture

Never done real time myself, have done a mixture of importing of BVH and key framing. Let us know how this turns out, sorry I couldn't offer any good advice, what MC hardware are you using?

He Allusionist - thanks for trying... the hardware is yet to be finalized (as well) can't go ahead before I have the software solution fully solved. Visited Siggraph a while back and got to know all the MC vendors!
    What's BVH?

    Re: 3DS and Motion Capture

Lina, you can use various device to capture the motion and using that inside 3dsmax in real time. Starting from mouse, joystick and other device can be used. if you want to know where to find that in 3ds max UI let me know, i will explain that to you.

BVH stand for BioVision TM motion-capture format data. These files can have motion data of the person's skeletal and limb motion and rotation.
