Another project done in SketchUp with the final rendering exported out of SU into Maxwell Render and rendered out with Maxwell. Of course the final image has some PhotoShop work as well.

Hey nice way to represent your work step by step. It is a fantastic work. I really appriciate the lighting and post production work. I can see you concentrated all the minor thing here to make a good visual. Only one crit from me that the characters are too much yellow

Thanks Neil, part of the problem there is I had the warm greys and browns and the project manager said it should be colder grays and no browns and then when I was all done, a principal said, it is too cold and gray, warm it up, so I did a yellow adjustment layer to it all and didn't adjust anything against that, I was a bit irritable and just wanted to get the thing out the door. The version I will use for the old portfolio won't have the yellow adjustment layer I imagine. Some of the problem thogh was the maps on the people, they are low poly SU people since I had to fill the darn fitness club up, I will keep an eye on that issue on the portfolio 'Directors Cut' version

Yea, that is the problem of clients. They are never satisfied. There are lots of choices and controversy between them. As a result the creater use to face all the problems. You know, yesterday I had completed an electrical lab of an university with accessories as their requirement. They send me all the drawing about the table and other. There are lots of tables and chairs etc. After completing the work now they are telling to change the desk to a iron leged table and the table design is quite different. I have to make all the things again. These are quite frustrating.

I like it. The shadow of the semitransparent tree in the Maxwell Render bugs me a little bit.
clients, for me it’s "client". And I know what you are saying.

I think the real thing to do is have your proposals in order and define what point additional services are incurred. I was just lazy when a firm I had a long history with called and did just an abbreviated proposal and then they came back and said oh by the way, make it out to the client please and bill them direct. So by being lazy I got nailed, I should have done a full proposal and sent each stage to both the architect and client so the client was involved with any request for changes. In this way I wouldn't feel bad going to the client with addition charges, but they were out of the loop so to speak so it is difficult for me to come to them and say there were additional services when they didn't ask for them or give direction for them. That is how I feel about it anyway.
DB, what in particular is it about the shadows that you don't like, maybe I need to tweak my post production technique?

I think It’s. I see a shadow, but don’t really see a tree. My strange brain is trying to figure out what the dark spots are on the sidewalk.

I love the transition. I want to see the real thing, it's the only missing part among the series of images you have there. great job Russ!

I got you, I was basically trying to break up the boring street and sidewalk and there are lots of trees along the streets and when I showed some foreground limbs&leaves it looked odd due to the angle so I left them out. Thanks for explaining what was bothering you, helps me catalog mentally how people perceive imagery.
Your kind of like an ostrich aren't you, if I can't see you, you can't see me! LOL Kidding my friend

Love to see the transition too!! First three are the same picture in Sketchup but with a different "style".
I work the same ... first put it all together in sketchup and then export it to 3dsmax.
