Redway3D Releases Redviewer 1.5

Redway3D announces the release of Redviewer 1.5, a  plug-in for Autodesk® 3ds Max® / VIZ.

Redviewer is a plug-in for Autodesk® 3ds Max® / VIZ that extends the basic viewport capabilities (by using the 3D graphic board). The user can tune the materials, set the lighting, communicate and share reaching a visual quality never seen before. Deeply integrated to the Autodesk® 3ds Max® / VIZ creation pipeline and interface, redviewer can be transparently used at any stage of the creation process.

Redviewer supports most of the standard Autodesk ® 3ds Max® / VIZ materials and maps. See interactively how your material will be rendered, place your textures and tune the specular highlights (Phong, Blinn or anisotropic shaders are handled)… Complex maps are displayed in real time including mix, mask and falloff! Even the V-Ray material is supported (since redviewer 1.4).

Redviewer can display the effect of any standard Autodesk® 3ds Max® / VIZ light (omni, directional, spot, photometric or not, mental ray® and VRay ones). Set any number of lights you need, redviewer can display them! Check your shadowing by activating real time redviewer shadows. Shadow maps (blurry on nVidia cards or not) and ray-traced shadows (sharp and soft) are all supported.

Simply choose to export a movie (using the ‘make preview’ command from Autodesk® 3ds Max® / VIZ ) to quickly produce a high quality animation with redviewer. Show it to your customers or share it with your teams to better fit their requirements.
